Dear Colleagues, Dear Friends

On behalf of the European Tissue Repair Society it is a great pleasure to welcome you to Amsterdam for the 21st ETRS Annual Meeting from 5-7 October 2011.

The congress will be held in the historic Felix Meritis complex in the center of Amsterdam.

The congress will comprise plenary sessions and free paper sessions with renowned scientists on the following topics:

- Burns, scar evaluation/development
- Smart textiles / smart scaffolds
- Nanotechnology
- On site tissue regeneration (e.g. lipofilling)
- Tissue Banking
- Fibrosis in skin and other tissues
- Inflammation
- Infection and biofilm: novel therapies
- Tissue engineering/mesenchymal stem cells (skin/cartilage/bone)
- Chronic wounds

Also ample time will be scheduled to give novice scientists and clinicians the opportunity to present their work.

Following the past meeting junior scientists organized in the junior committee are actively involved in the organization of specific parts of the meeting and the organization of the hands-on training sessions or lab-kitchens.

Also we would like to bring industry, scientists and clinicians together in interactive sessions and workshops in order to explore and develop new ideas.

We hope to welcome you to an exciting meeting in the lively city of Amsterdam.
